“Together We are Empowered”
Tam Helenske was a guest artist at John D. Sloat through the CLARA center Teaching Artist Training program. The CLARA program lasted eight months, which ended with John D Sloat being chosen as a CLARA site for ten week opportunity for a new teaching artist to practice their skills.
Over 200 students (Grades SDC, TK-6th) and staff added their prints to the mural. The project represents John D. Sloat peer and staff connection through kindness, encouragement and acceptance of similarities and differences.
Students created mural designs based on concepts learned during project.
