Florin Historical Mural

I am currently working on the mural Monday through Friday 1-6. I am open for visitors. The mural is located at 8360 Florin Rd, Sacramento.

After the completion the first phase, painting; I will create the art new media component of the mural.  I will add augmented reality to supplement the 150 years history of the area.  There are many voices and significant historical events that cannot be fully embraced in a 2D image.  With augmented reality the viewer can access the app, which will then activate video, audio and photographs of community members sharing the history of the area.

Old florin Town is one of several communities that interned the Japanese American community.  On February 14th, 1942 265 families were asked to leave with what they could carry.  Many returning years later- to their homes, businesses and farms, only to find nothing remained of they past lives which took generations to build.

Florin Town today is considered one of the most diverse communities in the country.

Working on the last layer details, Mural size 60′ x 13′
